The Dining Room
I started off my theatre career as a Freshman in college at NU. I always wanted to do theatre in high school, but never got around to because I was so busy. Now as a theatre minor, I am receiving a $3,000 scholarship for my time and effort.
The first show I performed in was A Christmas Carol in the fall of 2003. I played several minor roles including Fred's Wife, some Narration, and others.
In the spring of 2004, I was on the costume crew for Moon Over Buffalo. Even though I auditioned and wasn't casted, I played a very important role as the Assistant Costume Designer.
My second show was A Midsummer Night's Dream (fall '04) in which, again, I played a small role as a fairie and more specifically, Moth. I also extensively helped in creating the stage and set, in which, I put in about 40 hours helping build.
The third show that I was able to perform in was this past semester (spring '05). We did The Dining Room where I played a few small roles (couldn't do much because I was really busy and an 'emergency use only' actress) such as Ellie, Claire, and a Dinner Guest.
I also helped out with a few small plays like Zoo Story, which was directed by our very own Caleb Reid. That semester, I also was President/Vice/Founder along with my good friend Ryan Pratt in our Improv group, in which was dubbed The Sloppy Joes.
The next show that we are preparing to put on is Dead Man Walking which will be the fall of 2005 show. Unfortunately, the dates of the play fall exactly on the date of one of my friend's weddings (in which I am a bridesmaid), so I will not be able to perform in. However, I will be playing a major role as the Prop's Master, and Assistant Technical Director.
